FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • TED conferences are organized and run by TED, whereas TEDx events are grassroots initiatives, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” TEDx, like TEDxIHEID, brings the spirit of TED to local communities and includes live speakers and recorded TED Talks, and are organized independently under a free license granted by TED.

  • You can attend a TEDxGVAGrad event by purchasing a ticket for the conference, or if you are a IHEID student, you may also volunteer for the event. The event will be in-person at the Geneva Graduate Institute.

  • The application form to become a volunteer is currently closed. See this page for more information and reach out to us at gisa.tedx@graduateinstitute.ch if you have any questions.

  • TEDxGVAGrad aims to provide a platform for interesting ideas and a variety of speakers who can talk about moving towards a sustainable future. The TEDxGVAGrad Talks team is currently working to finalize the 2023 Speakers List. Please reach out to us at gisa.tedx@graduateinstitute.ch for more information or if you are interested in speaking/nominating a speaker.

  • As a student-led, non-profit initiative, we have very limited resources and one of the ways to finance our TEDx events would be through the funds we raise from the event. This includes the fees for attending the conference so that we can cover the fixed costs that were spent for the events, such as travel costs of speakers, auditorium rental, technical equipment rental, etc.

  • Unfortunately, TEDxGVAGrad cannot offer scholarships to attend the conference since this is a one-day event.

  • Tickets are not transferable or refundable. However, if you find that you are unable to attend the event you can e-mail us at gisa.tedx@graduateinstitute.ch and suggest an alternate for your ticket.
